In 1892, James Oliver Power came to Arizona in a buckboard wagon from Kansas. He settled in Lehi until he met his bride, Sarah Loveda Bullock. With completion of the Roosevelt Dam in 1911, many settlers flocked to the Gilbert area, including this pair who began their 2,000-acre Power Ranch homestead living in a tiny frame bungalow.

Today, the Power Ranch community is located at Power and Queen Creek roads in Gilbert, Arizona. It’s known for it’s welcoming atmosphere and homes that are ideal for families of any size. Power Ranch is made up of 7,400 homes with an average of 2,000 sq. ft and an average list price of $311,000. There are eleven neighborhoods in total; each of them connected to the 26-mile trail system that encourages residents to meet their neighbors.

Not only are the streets lined with beautiful trees, but the area’s eleven neighborhoods are built around a park filled with playground equipment, sport courts, barbecues, and more. There is also a 2.2 acre catch-and-release lake at the community park, as well as one at the Trailside Community Park.

The Power family legacy still resides in the community that James and Sarah Power created more than a century ago. The pioneer couple instilled a sense of responsibility, neighborliness and family values that is now the legacy of the Power Ranch community.
