Why the Valley is the New Go-to Place for Home Buyers

Why the Valley is the New Go-to Place for Home Buyers

For many, Arizona has been the go-to destination when it comes to relocating. In fact, in 2020, Arizona was the 7th most popular state for people to move to, making it one of the most sought after destinations in the country.

For many, Arizona definitely has its charms. From beautiful historic neighborhoods, luxe dining and shopping options, amazing weather (most of the time), and a booming job market, our state has quickly become a fierce competitor with other areas across the nation.

What are some other reasons people are flocking to the Valley of the Sun?

Affordable Home Prices

While, right now, home prices are definitely higher than they were a year ago, all-in-all, the valley is still fairly affordable. In fact, many of the suburbs of Phoenix (like Mesa and Glendale) are quickly becoming favorites of families— often, for the amount of space available for their price tags, easily accessible activities for all ages and, especially in areas that are still being developed, the newness of things in the area.

Great Job Market

It’s no secret that many companies, including startups, have chosen to call Phoenix home— both for the low taxes and increasing talent pool. With large companies like Amazon, GoDaddy and Yelp having a presence in the Valley, and the consistent founding of companies and startups here, there are also some fantastic job opportunities. In fact, many people have predicted that Phoenix will become the next Silicon Valley.

Gorgeous Weather

The weather in itself is one of the biggest reasons many are beginning to call Arizona home. Sure, our summers can be sweltering (115° is no joke), but if you can make it through a few months of crazy heat, the rest of the year can range from gorgeous, picnic-worthy weather to mild winters. This has been especially appealing to those from the East coast, where residents are no strangers to 3 feet of snow on the ground and shoveling out driveways.

Growing Arts and Culture Communities

With a number of amazing museums, music venues, theater options and festivals, Arizona is a fantastic place to enjoy the arts. Between Ballet Arizona, the Arizona Opera, the Phoenix Art Museum, the Hale Theater, The Nash Jazz Club, the Arizona Puppet Theater, the Herberger Museum, and so, so much more, you’ll never be at a loss for a performance or venue to visit.

Central for Weekend Getaways

Arizona is perfectly set in the middle of some of the most sought after vacation destinations. It takes only a few hours to get to places like Las Vegas, San Diego, and Zion National park, and for a few more hours on the road, even destinations like Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Even within Arizona itself, cooler weather awaits after a short ride up to Prescott or Flagstaff, and you can even get your zen on within a few hours in Sedona.

With its amazing mix of perks, Arizona has become one of the most desired locations for home buyers. With beautiful scenery, wonderful weather, and a plethora of things to do for all ages, Arizona is truly a gem of the Southwest— one that more and more home buyers from all over the country are beginning to recognize.
