Or, if you’re following Danny directly, you may have seen his awesome market recaps, heard his interviews with valley experts, or simply checked out an Insta story or two featuring his home, crossfit obsession, or one of his two cats.

All that is great, but we wanted to introduce you to Danny in a way, featuring some more personal questions that will give you some insight into who created our amazing company.

Are you ready? Here are 10 answers to 10 questions we asked Danny to help you to get to know our fearless leader in a whole new way!

1. Do you have any Nicknames?

In college, everybody always called me by my full name, ‘Danny Brown.’ It was never ‘Danny,’ it was always ‘Danny Brown.’ In elementary school, one time for Halloween I dressed up as Peewee Herman, so all through elementary school my nickname was ‘PeeWee’... I dressed up in a gray suit with the little handkerchief in the pocket, and a bow tie, and I dressed up as PeeWee Herman and it stuck.

2. If there was only one food that you could eat for the rest of your life, every day, what would it be?

Sushi. I feel like that’s a type of food, but. I love sushi. It’s my favorite food.

3. If you were on a desert island, and could only bring 3 things with you, what would they be? No people. Only things, and your basic survival needs are met. Would it be art supplies?

I am not an artist. My dad and my brother got all of that. Jeez, what couldn’t I live without? I don’t know. I would say I probably couldn’t live without Spotify… I love podcasts, so if you have Spotify you also have music… Spotify would definitely be one of the three. Netflix. And probably some sort of Rogue squat rack.

4. Do you have any pets?

We have two cats, Amber and Bailey. I bought them for my wife. So the reason we have them is my fault. She adores them, they are pretty chill cats. I wish (not to sound cliche because I feel like cat people always say their cats are like dogs) but these two cats are extremely outgoing and social, and just want to be up in your face and part of what’s going on all the time. I wish we had cats that were super standoffish and would go and be by themselves. These two are not that, they love to be up in the thick of things.”

5. What are your family traditions?

Our traditions center mostly around the holidays. So we get together for Thanksgiving. Christmas is probably the biggest tradition. On Christmas Eve we do luminarias every year, and then my mom and my grandma make up a big spread for Christmas Eve. We do smothered burritos. My grandma makes some killer green chile and my mom goes way overboard and makes all the fixings for burritos. I don’t know how it started, but for some reason it’s always kind of Mexican themed, around the luminarias – when I was a kid we would do a piñata. That’s something that I would like to do if we have a family is bring back a piñata. I think it would be weird for a bunch of 40-year-olds to be going after a piñata. Maybe not. And then we would always get pajamas on Christmas Eve when I was growing up, and my mom has brought that back, so she gets us all pajamas now. And then Christmas day is turkey which, if you guys know anything about me, my least favorite food is Thanksgiving food… I would rather eat anything else.

6. What food can you absolutely not stand?

Cheesecake. It’s so gross. I’m very particular when it comes to desserts, and I hate most of them. The fancier they are and the more words there are on the menu, the higher the probability that I will not like it. I don’t like custard. I don’t like crème brûlée. I don’t like tiramisu. I don’t like cake in general. Most pies I can’t stand. I am an ice cream and chocolate chip cookie type. That’s what I like.

7. Do you play any instruments? If you don’t, what would you play if you could?

When I was growing up, my mom put us in piano and keyboard lessons. It didn’t take. I didn’t continue as I got older, but probably that. I think being able to sit down at a piano and play would be cool, but I don’t want to put in the time.

8. What book changed your life?

Darren Hardy’s ‘The Compound Effect.’ That book, my mom turned me on to Darren Hardy and she gave me that book, my first copy of it. And I’ve given it out as a gift quite a bit. And it just talks about making small changes every day that compound over time to make huge, huge differences. So you don’t have to implement some revolutionary process, you can just be a little better every day or every week and it will have huge impacts over the course of years.

9. Tell me about your family.

My parents are still married, which is awesome. And they’ve been married for 40 years, so a very long time. And my parents are super cool, they come over and, in our new house we do a lot of entertaining now, and they can hang with my friends, they party, they stay up late, and they’re super fun. All my friends love them. I’ve got a younger brother, he’s 4 ½ years younger than me. We’re super close friends. When we were growing up we were not friends at all. We were always fighting and bickering, but he’s a good kid and one of my best friends now.

10. What has been the biggest reward that you’ve gotten from running your business?

This is going to sound super lame, but helping our clients. When they close on their home and reach that goal of home ownership, that’s my favorite part of this job. It’s why I do what I do and enjoy it so much. Because I know what owning a home has done for me personally and my net worth and just my life, and being able to express that and share that, and help others achieve that is so rewarding. So every time I get to help a client close on a purchase or sell a home to transition to the next chapter… that is the most rewarding time for me… I love it.
